The team at Hog Roast Tovil are sticklers for a soppy story, and so when we were asked to cater for the wedding of Jane and Steve – sweethearts since school, who had finally decided to tie the knot – we were only too glad to oblige! Who doesn’t love a good love story? And what could be more romantic than two people who have loved each other since they were only teenagers, at last resolving to make the ultimate commitment to one another? Here at Hog Roast Tovil we think there’s only one thing more romantic, one thing more truly heart-wrenchingly poignant – and that’s a damn delicious hog roast!
When we were approached by the happy couple, we were eager to get started with the planning and preparations straight away: just like Jane, we couldn’t say ‘Yes!’ fast enough! We began by outlining our pre-set menu options with the soon-to-be betrothed, and after some careful discussion and deliberation, they decided upon a suitable set of courses for their special day. They had a relatively large guest-list of 150 people due to a large extended family on the groom’s part, but this was no problem – we are experienced in catering for a range of parties, from small and intimate to those numbering in the hundreds, and we were excited to be a part of their special day.
It was a beautiful February’s day, when the day of the ceremony finally rolled around: the sky a vibrant duck-egg blue with not a single cloud in sight, the sun glowing with all the passion of an August afternoon – as though it knew what a momentous occasion was going to occur. The Hog Roast Tovil team arrived in good spirits, and began their preparations – setting tables and arranging centrepieces – before the real work could begin.
By the time Jane and Steve were pronounced man and wife, there was a feast prepared in their honour – from the sumptuous slow-roasted hog to the simply unbeatable sticky toffee pudding. All alongside the signature Hog Roast Tovil service, ensuring that the wedding was one to remember!
