Every year visitors and local people alike don their walking boots and outdoor gear to participate in a popular annual hiking event, and after working up an appetite on the hills, they are treated to some hot food at the finish line by the event organisers. With the food being a bit of a flop last year, they knew they had to make an extra effort this time around to reward the tired hikers. After finding out about Hog Roast Otham’s great reputation when it comes to outdoor catering, they knew they would be in safe hands by hiring us to provide the post-walk grub!
Thanks to our versatility, we can cater in any location without ever compromising on the quality of our food, so we were perfectly happy rustling up some of our superb slow roasted pork sandwiches at the finish line, doing it all from scratch using the very best ethically-reared pork and superior locally sourced ingredients!
By the time the first of the hiking group appeared, Hog Roast Otham’s skilled chef was carving the tender pork, which was a very welcome sight indeed for the tired walkers! As more and more people finished, our serving table became a hive of activity and our hog roast sandwiches, served with crispy crackling and our homemade appeal sauce were the perfect way to revive everyone! Our hog roast machine also made a great centre-piece for everyone to gather around and chat after their long walk.
The event organisers were very happy with the quality of our food and our friendly service, and so were the participants who were treated to our food after they had finished the hike! Everyone thought it was the ideal way to end the walk and a world away from the lacklustre food they had been presented with the year before!
Here at Hog Roast Otham, we love being involved in local events, especially when we get the opportunity to play such a major part in its success and we were even more delighted when Rachel, who hired us, asked us if we would come back again next year!
