Birthday celebrations make up a significant portion of the events calendar for catering companies, however each event is unique and brings together lots of different tasty dishes. Hog Roast Otham’s latest event was no different; it was a party for 30 people to celebrate a very special 21st birthday.
The catering was booked by Matthew and he worked with the team to concoct a tasty buffet menu that was sure to enchant all the guests. With a serving time set at 6:30-7pm the client wanted a sumptuous tasty buffet that would be filling for the guests. That is exactly what Catering Manager Chris delivered.
With the serving time set for 6:30-7pm, Chris arrived at the private garden venue in Tunbridge Wells around midday or shortly thereafter. Chris then had to set up the catering gazebo and equipment, for which there was plenty of space due to the alfresco nature of the celebration. All the dishes were made fresh in the hours leading up to the serving time, meaning that they were at their very best in terms of taste and quality when the guests tucked into the buffet that evening.
The menu for the event was inclusive of all tastes and dietary requirements. There was vegan and vegetarian options of: grilled vegetable skewers and grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. For the carnivorous guests there was also a Hog Roast Otham speciality, a Classic Hog Roast, which is a slow spit roasted pig that is served with crispy crackling, stuffing and apple sauce. On offer at the buffet table there was also fresh coleslaw, mixed salad and a large platter of gluten free bread rolls.
For the catering at this event the guests had the use of Hog Roast Otham’s high quality reusable wooden bamboo crockery and cutlery. These alongside the rubbish generated through the catering of the event were taken away from the venue at the end of the buffet by Catering Manager Chris.
The weather held fair and the party was great fun! The clients was delighted with Chris’s work and thanked the team for creating a birthday buffet to remember.
