Turning 80 is an incredible milestone of life and Hog Roast Smarden’s latest catering event was celebrating such an achievement. The 80th birthday party was a fun and fabulously sunny outdoor event that took place in the client’s spacious green garden.
The client worked with the team at Hog Roast Smarden to put together a menu for the buffet that was full of lots of tasty treats for all 50 of the lucky guests. The menu for the buffet that was devised was full to the brim with tasty dishes! Alongside the Classic Hog Roast (a slow spit roasted pig complete with crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing and tangy apple sauce), there was a whole host of other tasty treats. There was an exciting homemade roasted vegetable tart as a vegetarian option too! The buffet table was heavily laden with Caesar salad, fresh coleslaw, Greek salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, piping hot new potatoes and a mountain of soft, gluten free rolls that could be enjoyed by everyone.
The serving time for the buffet was set at 3pm and so Catering Manager Chris from Hog Roast Smarden arrived by 9am so that there was enough time to get it all done. Every single dish was made freshly on site in the hours between his arrival and the 3pm buffet serving time.
As part of the catering package the Hog Roast Smarden team provided high quality disposable crockery and cutlery for the guests to use. Then, at the end of the catering for the event, these pieces of crockery and cutlery were gathered by friendly Catering Manager Chris and taken away from the venue. All the rubbish from the catering element of the event was taken away by Chris and then disposed of safely and responsibly by the team.
The buffet that Chris put together was a feast for the eyes as well as the tummy. It looked almost too good to eat, but the guests tucked into it anyway! They made short work of enjoying the buffet, it was a very successful casual meal.
The 80th birthday party went off without a hitch, everyone had a wonderful time at the summery celebration. It was a job well done.
