Celebrating 25 Years Of The Sutton Vineyard Church With Hog Roast Oxted!

350 people of all ages came together on the first Sunday of the month to celebrate Sutton Vineyard Church’s 25th anniversary and also bid farewell to the church’s founding Senior Pastors Jason and Bev.

Youth Pastor Hannah, who joined the church last year, was in charge of organising this very special event for the community, which was enjoyed by all those who attended. Even those who couldn’t make it in person had a fantastic time tuning into the live stream on YouTube – though they missed out on the chance to taste Hog Roast Oxted’s heavenly hog roast, which was a huge talking point of the afternoon!

Hog Roast OxtedOur catering manager, Chris, headed this event, and following Hannah’s instructions, he served enough slow-roasted pork, sage and onion stuffing, crackling, applesauce and gluten-free rolls for the 300 meat-eating attendees. For the remaining 50, Hog Roast Oxted whipped up our vegan-friendly grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip, sweet chilli sauce and flatbreads. Both mains were served with mixed sweet potato and regular fries, which complemented each meal perfectly.

The preparations for a meal of this scale took our caterers all morning, but with lots to keep them occupied and plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits on the go, the guests didn’t mind waiting until the 1pm serving time rolled around to sink their teeth into our highly-anticipated spit-roast!

While Hog Roast Oxted worked tirelessly to cook lunch for everyone, the guests watched a video about the church’s growth over the years, listened to heartfelt speeches from Bev and Jason and united in prayer.

When the service came to an end, the guests were invited to continue the celebrations with a glass (or two!) of prosecco and Hog Roast Oxted’s mouth-wateringly delicious hog roast! Everyone complimented our team on the high-quality, lip-smacking flavours of the feast laid before them, which was a delight to hear.

There was also a bouncy castle for the kids to take turns on, which, as you can imagine, proved to be a very popular form of entertainment for the little ones! All in all, it was a brilliant day for everyone involved, and Hog Roast Oxted couldn’t be more pleased with the reception our food received!
