A good jig is always going to be a good time. Getting into the autumn/wintery spirit, at the end of last month the Hog Roast Gillingham team had the pleasure of joining some fine folks at the Holy Trinity Church Hall in the heart of Twydall for a very special catered ceilidh!
Ceilidhs are such an excellent dance tradition that tend to come more towards the end of the year. They fit right in with the cozier aesthetic of winter and autumn, which means they also fit right alongside our signature hog roast catering. A roast and a dance is assured to be a good time, so when the Hog Roast Gillingham team were invited along to the Holy Trinity Church to add our dining services to their ceilidh, we jumped at the chance!
As with any large scale event, you have to come in expecting challenges and curveballs. With around 100 guests in attendance we already knew we would have to be at our best, but the night threw us one extra curveball when there were issues with the electrical supply into the building. A temporary issue, and one that could foil any event or even caterer, but Chris and the Hog Roast Gillingham team remained resolute. We did our part, however well we could, to keep our portion of the event dining as best we could. Fortunately, our mobile roasting machines give us a little more flexibility in terms of how we both cook and serve, so the interruptions could largely remain minimal for our service!
We reckon both the guests and the hosts were very thankful for that because it meant that no one had to stay sitting hungry! We’re always ready to be flexible and accommodating of any issues that may arise on the day – that’s how we have managed to remain at the top for so many decades! Rest assured, every guest still got their hog roast, and every guest came back to us with a fully polished plate looking for even more, too! We can only hope that our dining didn’t leave the party too stuffed for their ensuing ceilidh!
