This December, Hog Roast Weavering were contacted by Elizabeth to arrange catering for her husbands 50th birthday party. The party was taking place at Great Higham Barn, with 50 of the couples’ closest friends and family. It was set to be a wonderful occasion, with great festive catering and a wonderful atmosphere. Our catering manager Chris was asked to provide our traditional festive menu, with some tasty extras.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Weavering team arrived in advance of the 19:30 mealtime. We began by preparing the main dishes, which consisted of whole-roasted turkeys and a slow-roasted pig. Each dish was cooked to perfection to ensure that the natural juices and flavours had been locked in. For meat-free guests, we also served BBQ pulled jackfruit. The mains were served in fresh bread rolls or a gluten-free alternative. For the trimmings, we prepared cauliflower cheese, a seasonal vegetable medley, pigs in blankets, roasted potatoes, and gravy. This created a deliciously versatile meal, with plenty for everyone to enjoy!
Once the main course had been enjoyed, it was time for the traditional mince pies served with brandy cream. This was an elegant and festive dessert and was a perfect way to end the catering and prepare the guests for an evening of great entertainment.
Our menu was served on bamboo crockery and cutlery, creating the ideal level of formality for the event.
