What do weddings and New Year’s Eve celebrations both have in common? Nope, no cheesy Christmas cracker jokes are waiting here I’m afraid!
These two events might not seem like they belong together, but at their core, they are both all about starting a new life chapter. Plus, they share themes of romance, excitement and cheer! So, really it makes total sense as to why so many couples would choose this special day to tie the knot. Also, having your wedding day as both the first and last party of the year sounds like too good of an opportunity to miss out on, don’t you agree?
While these are what appear to be the unicorn of wedding festivities, in that they don’t happen very often, Hog Roast Bodiam has been fortunate enough to have attended a fair few NYE marriages over the years. And rounding off 2020, our team had the pleasure of catering for a gorgeous ceremony in the countryside.
To comply with the latest Covid restrictions and lockdown rulings, newlyweds-to-be, Hannah and Jack had to cut their guest list back considerably, leaving them with just a small handful of their closest friends and relatives. This also meant cutting back on the menu to suit the new numbers, which Hog Roast Bodiam was able to do with absolute ease, much to the couple’s relief.
On the day of the wedding, Hog Roast Bodiam arrived on-site, where, adorned with metallic balloons, twinkling lights and dazzling gold tablecloths, the venue marquee set the perfect scene of romance. Whilst the happy couple tied the knot, our catering crew worked hard to complete the meal, which featured antipasto boards followed by free-range spit-roasted chicken served with chipolata sausage, stuffing and homemade onion gravy with a choice of sides, and a slice of wedding cake dressed in summer fruit coulis to finish.
Hannah and Jack were both truly amazed by the attention to detail that Hog Roast Bodiam had displayed on their special day, and they were incredibly grateful for the last-minute menu changes, which allowed them to enjoy their wedding with zero stress.
