Hog Roast Chatham – Hog Roasts For a Testimonial Dinner

Hog Roast ChathamNormally when we at Hog Roast Chatham talk about testimonials we are referring to the pieces of feedback that customers leave for us to help highlight for other potential customers the best qualities of our service. However, for this blog we are talking about a completely different kind of testimonial, one that feels so much more special!

This is a sporting testimonial, wherein a member of a team receives a special tribute usually in the form of a match or a ceremony for their many years of service to the team. It’s a little like marking a retirement for someone in a workplace, only the player may still be with the club after the event.

Hog Roast ChathamThe testimonial that we are talking about is one that the Hog Roast Chatham team were invited to via one of our local football clubs. The club was honouring their longtime captain and midfield stalwart, Graham, who has remained a part of the club for the last 12 years continuously. Graham is as rooted into the fabric of the club as the colours on their crest by this point. It was only right that the man be held in honour for all that he has achieved with the team over a decade plus. As locals to the club and longtime partners of the club, we at Hog Roast Chatham were all too happy to be there for Graham’s special testimonial.

For the testimonial day the team played a match in the afternoon with former and current players going up against each other. Graham swapped sides at half time so he could enjoy the game playing with both his current and former teammate selects. At the end of the match the Hog Roast Chatham crew had burgers and sausages waiting for everyone.

But the day was not done there, nor was our part in it. While serving out our rolls we already had our hog roast cooking away. The players all got themselves showered and changed so that everyone could head over to the clubhouse for a more official dinner and ceremony for Graham. Here Hog Roast Chatham served out a roast buffet during speeches and tributes to the man himself. A wonderful way to mark the playing career of a wonderful man and captain of the local community here in Chatham!
