Enjoying the Winter Olympics in Milan? We certainly have been at Hog Roast Barming.
One of the joys of being a caterer is that you often get to take part in some of the biggest cultural and sport events in the country and world. People like to mark the big occasions when they are really into them, so when it comes to the likes of a World Cup, a Six Nations or an Olympic event, it is not uncommon for the Hog Roast Barming team to get the call for some watch catering.
The Winter Olympics is one we expect less to get that call, but fortunately it seems when looking at freezing cold ski slopes there is a want for something a little more warming for your snacking. Something, perhaps, like our signature roasts!
We had one excellent watch event this past weekend with a customer who had gathered 12 of their friends to take in the weekend’s action. Wanting to make even more of an occasion out of the day, they drafted in the gold medal standard of catering: Hog Roast Barming. Our chefs cooked up a wonderful spread for them to pick and choose at their leisure. It included our signature hog roast, hand pulled and mixed with our golden crackling and sage and onion stuffing after the better part of an afternoon on the spit, as well as gourmet burgers and sausages for quick and easy rolls, regular and sweet potato fries, gourmet slaw and seasonal leaves with plenty of gluten-free rolls and wraps for an easy grab and go.
It’s not the type of dining that we expect the Olympians in Milan will be having at the moment, but it is great for sitting on the couch and watching each of the pulsating winter events. Perhaps, after all is said and done, a good Hog Roast Barming feast will also be how some of these impressive Olympians let their hair down a little once back home.
