The summer wedding season is easily our favourite time of the year at Hog Roast Tonbridge. You may find us saying similar about Christmas, but what the summer wedding season gives as a caterer is so many extravagant and wonderful events that are just all about love, joy, and celebration. Weddings take us out to spectacular venues all across Maidstone, where we meet lovely and glamourous guests done up to the nines. Weddings bring us delightful brides and grooms, resplendent and delightful on their special days. They bring us some of the very best catering experiences – that is why the summer wedding season is a favourite at Hog Roast Tonbridge.
And this past weekend we had just one more to remind us quite why. A lovely service held here in Tonbridge followed by a beautiful reception; the Hog Roast Tonbridge team were on hand to cook up and serve a glorious Southern Slow Roast menu for many wonderful guests. Head Chef Chris and the team got well ahead of the dining by starting early in the day to give our delicious slow roasted southern style meats all the time they need to turn beautifully tender and brimming with flavour. The likes of our Texas style beef brisket, pulled quarter of minted lamb, BBQ pork butt, sticky pork ribs and Cajun spiced chicken thighs are all about cooking low and slow for many hours. That’s what creates the distinctive southern style, where spice and smoky barbecue flavours really come to the fore.
Come the 4pm serving time, with glorious summer sunshine spying through the windows to create a perfect golden glow, our foods where ready to serve. Guests could come and pick from our southern style meats at their leisure and then pile plates high with our American-inspired sides: corn cobettes, creamy mac and cheese, tomato and mozzarella salad, crunchy slaw, seasonal leafy greens, and roasted baby new potatoes. If that wasn’t quite enough our desserts of chocolate torte, profiteroles, and individual cheesecakes finished out a perfect evening of love and dining.
