All football fans will know the FA Cup. One of the oldest and most prestigious trophies in all of world football, the FA Cup is one that produces magic each and every year. From club fairytales, massive upsets for the big teams and dreamland runs for the smaller community clubs, to individual moments of brilliance that drags teams over the line to that all elusive prize silverware. It’s England’s prize tournament for good reason, and this year the Hog Roast Brompton team were delighted to have had a share in some of that magic with a brilliant pub event held here in Brompton.
The FA Cup catches the attention of casual and die hard football fans alike. It’s what makes it a great day out anytime the final comes around, even when your team isn’t involved. This year saw Chelsea and Man City go head to head – two of England’s biggest national clubs, if not the world – and to properly observe the occasion, The Cannon Pub in Brompton held its very own special FA Cup event, inviting along the Hog Roast Brompton team to cater for the whole thing.
Adding to the occasion, The Cannon Pub found itself with its very own piece of FA Cup history. The Royal Engineers community team, who won the FA Cup in 1875, were invited along to join for the special pub event. Club representatives, former players and new joined for this excellent communi
ty event which saw the guest appearance of famed ex-Celtic, Arsenal, West Ham and Wales star, John Hartson, who delighted in sharing and learning of the history of the team and all that it has represented for the community. With an excellent match to add to that, it really was such a unique and magical occasion.
All the while, Chef Chris and the Hog Roast Brompton team kept the roaster cooking to serve up our famed hog roast with plenty of delicious accompaniments to keep all 130 guests very well fed. An afternoon surrounded by great company, great foods, and immense history while witnessing more be made on screen – what more could you ask for from the FA Cup!
