This weekend the Hog Roast Edenbridge had the privilege of joining the Bishop Gilpin Community Choir for their annual signing and socialising event. With a mix of musical practice, great dining, and plenty of fun and games for everyone involved in the choir, this was a fantastic event to be a part of and a great set of guests to cater for.
The Bishop Gilpin Community Choir invites residents, parents, etc, of Bishop Gilpin’s school and church to join them on a weekly choir night where they may be singing anything from the biggest pop and rock tunes to the classics and folk tunes. Each year the group take a weekend away to celebrate the choir in even bigger style than their usual weekly meets, which of course is why Hog Roast Edenbridge were called upon to make this a weekend worthy of the billing.
The choir had booked there retreat at the incredible Bore Place residence – a 500 acre farm just an hour’s travel outside of London. The venue offered a private and beautiful setting for the choir group to do as they please over the weekend, with a selection of activities taking place right the way through their time there. In the midst of the Saturday afternoon, the Hog Roast Edenbridge team arrive to site while the choir group worked up an appetite with some of their special sessions and work in progress rehearsals. That gave us plenty of time to put together their evening dinner, which was to be a very special hog roast dining experience with our vegan BBQ pulled jackfruit and grilled veg and halloumi skewers as an alternative dining option. Our team enjoyed hearing some of the rehearsal songs – which to our, admittedly, untrained ears sounded perfectly angelic already – while we went about our business cooking a whole hog roast in the authentic spit style. Having been given a bit of a show by the Bishop Gilpin choir already, it was only fair we then did the same with our spectacle-filled hog roast!
Our thanks to Bishop Gilpin’s Community Choir for choosing Hog Roast Edenbridge’s catering on such an excellent weekend retreat!
