Hog Roast Maidstone – A Hot one For a 60th Birthday Celebration with Hog Roast Maidstone

A May Day bank holiday weekend, a 60th birthday celebration, and a Hog Roast Maidstone catered menu – a perfect combination by any measure!

This was a combo put together by our customer of the week, Martin, who brought together friends and family over the bank holiday to share in his 60th birthday celebrations. Knowing that the best way to make any celebration better – and certainly one over a bank holiday –, Martin came to his favourite caterers in Hog Roast Maidstone to provide the perfect menu for his milestone celebrations.

And ever the adventurous customer, rather than our classic hog roast dining experience, Martin opted for Hog Roast Maidstone’s smoky and spicy special, the Southern Slow Roast. Inspired by the barbecue style of the American southern states, our southern slow roast combines our typical slow roasting style with a good measure of spicy marinades, dry rubs, and classical American-style smoky barbecue sauces. It’s a great choice for a 60th celebration, where good food and good company is the order of the day.

With some added input from Martin to turn it into a bespoke menu, our dining for the 60 guests in attendance looked as follows: the Hog Roast Maidstone BBQ pork butt, made perfectly tender by a slow cook that leaves the meat positively dripping off the bone; marinated chicken thighs cooked in a Cajun spicing for added oomph and flavour in every bite; and pulled quarter of minted lamb which is also made delicious and tender with a perfect pull-away texture, leading to melt in your mouth tastes. To accompany these perfectly cooked slow roasted meat: our homemade gourmet slaw with plenty of creamy taste, seasonal leafy greens, herb dressed new potatoes, and a selection of gluten-free rolls and wraps.

This proved to be a very popular menu among our guests. Our thanks can only go to Martin on that front for curating so a perfectly balanced bespoke menu. A good combination of hot and spicy southern slow roasted meats with comforting sides – delish for any 60th birthday celebrations in town!
