Half term is when children need the most events and activities planned to stop them from being bored while they are off school. It can be a great idea to host an event designed to wear them out, providing lots of fun games and activities to keep them occupied. To turn the occasion into an event, why not provide a delicious buffet menu from Hog Roast Bearsted?
Last month, Hog Roast Bearsted was contacted to arrange catering for a children’s party that was taking place during the February half-term. The party was being hosted as a way to keep the children busy and occupied for a day, including lots of sports, games, and fun activities for everyone to take part in. For the catering, our menu needed to be suitable for children and adults and include plenty for everyone to choose from. The lunch would be the fuel needed to get through the rest of the event so it was important that we got it right! After looking through our menus, it was decided that our Gourmet BBQ menu would be ideal for the occasion as it includes a variety of different dishes and has something for every guest to enjoy.
On the day of the party, the Hog Roast Bearsted team arrived with plenty of time to prepare for the 2:00pm mealtime. We began by preparing the main dishes, which included succulent pork sausages, veggie sausages, juicy British beef burgers, marinated chicken kebabs, and halloumi and vegetable skewers. These dishes were all served in fresh bread rolls, alongside a selection of condiments. For the side dishes, we prepared homemade chips, a selection of fresh salad dishes, and crunchy coleslaw. Altogether, these dishes created a varied and delicious buffet lunch and it was a great addition to the party!
